Cavaillon and the Provence
Provencal city of 25000 inhabitants on the river Durance, in the Regional Park of Luberon, Cavaillon is a favoured place to the crossroad of the Valley of Rhône, from Alps and Mediterranean. Busy all year,you will enjoy walking trough its ancient streets by following the pedestrian arrowed circuit. then visit in turn the Luberon and its castles, the Mont Ventoux and its vineyards, the Alpilles and its sites wich inspired so many artists. Situated 25 km South east of Avignon and 6O km North of Mediterranean beaches, Cavaillon is also in the middle of the festivals of Provence ( Avignon, Orange, Aix en Provence, Vaison la Romaine...).
